a peaceful, sustainable homestead in Western Kentucky

Our Story

Nestled in the rolling hills of Calhoun, Kentucky, Heavenly Hill Homestead spans 89 acres of lush, picturesque pasture. After over a decade of dreaming, saving, and searching, we found our forever farm at an auction in 2021. Since then, we’ve lovingly restored the original farmhouse, added cozy horse stalls to the historic barn, and fenced in space for our pigs to roam. Our cattle enjoy four separate pastures, giving them constant access to green, grassy fields and fresh country air.

The name Heavenly Hill was lovingly chosen by my Granny, who declared this land our little slice of heaven on earth—and we couldn’t agree more.

Our Story

We’re Chelsea and Matt—first-generation farmers with a deep love for animals, the land, and each other. What started as a wild dream turned into a life filled with hay-scented mornings, muddy boots, and shaggy cow cuddles. Our journey into farming wasn’t traditional, but it’s been nothing short of magical.

Highland Cattle stole our hearts with their gentle souls and striking appearance. For us, they’re not just livestock—they’re family. Every day, we work side-by-side, raising these magnificent animals with care, respect, and lots of love. Whether you're visiting to learn more or hoping to bring a Highland home, we’re so glad you’re here.

Our Mission

At Heavenly Hill Homestead, our mission is simple:
To raise healthy, happy, full-sized Highland Cattle and share their charm with others.

We do not raise or sell mini Highlands, as we prioritize the long-term health, structure, and well-being of our cattle above all else. Our animals are raised like pets—with names, personalities, and plenty of affection. We take pride in providing a natural, enriching environment where our cattle can thrive.

Whether you're a seasoned rancher or looking for a gentle pasture companion, our Highlands are ready to become part of your family—just like they’re part of ours.
